Sometime last year I decided to try my hand a making a banana cream pie. I was never one for cream pies until a few years ago when I tried a banana cream tart at a local restaurant we like to frequent and I was hooked.
Looked easy enough to make, so I made it for a dinner party and it was a hit. Headed to the office on Monday and my co-worker wondered where his piece of pie was. A few weeks later I made one for him after he went above and beyond to help me out. Then the recipe card went back into the file to save for later as my husband prefers for sweet treats not to be made in our house, ’cause if they’re made well they get eaten.
Every year we head to Yosemite to celebrate my husband’s birthday with a group of good friends. And, each year I try to make something different to share. This year my husband decided on the pie. The pie was GONE before anyone could go back for seconds.
I opted to add a 4th banana to make it a bit more hearty and I will definitely do that again next time.
