I love selecting a gift for someone to enjoy. Of course, I also enjoy receiving gifts, but I enjoy even more writing thank you notes to friends and family for the gifts.
When I was little, my mom made us write thank you notes for every present we received. I used to get annoyed that I had to write a thank you note before I got to play with a toy, but now I am grateful.
Thank you notes are a bit lost in our society. Perhaps it is the expectation that we deserve gifts or simply that we get too busy to write someone to let them know that we appreciate their thoughtfulness.
Whatever the case may be, I now enjoy writing thank you notes and receiving them too, especially handwritten notes.
I love that D is also a fan of writing thank you notes. It is hardly common for men to write thank you notes, so this makes me smile.
