Earlier this year, I mentioned the desire to have something to focus on while I waited for something that I have no control over. I received many great ideas from friends and have definitely partaken in several of the ideas during the last 12 weeks.
One of my favorite ideas was from my husband and so we embarked on 12 weeks of cocktails. We set out to each concoct a cocktail for the two of us every Sunday (football of course) for 12 weeks. It was fun to search for what to make every other week to surprise each other. There were some highs (ginger lemon drop) and some lows (dark & stormy), but best of all it was fun! It was so much fun that we ended up doing it for a few extra weeks.
Here is the list of all that was enjoyed (not necessarily in order of when we enjoyed them:
Bleu Cheese Rosemary Martinis (own recipe based on cocktail enjoyed at Bellagio)
Ginger Lemon Drop (own recipe based on cocktail enjoyed at Mythos, ginger liqeuer & meyer lemon simple syrup round out this creation)
Virgin Seductive Swan (my friend was inspired to share this one with us)
Margaritas (with grandparents)
Sour Puss (D may be willing to share this recipe with you)
Peppermint Cream (this is a cold drink that we found in our cocktail book – Bartender’s Guide Vol. 2, couldn’t find it online though…)
Hibiscus Drink (don’t remember what it was but it was pretty!)
Monkey Wrench 2 (from our cocktail book)
Banana Boat (used recipe from our cocktail book and can’t find similar one online, this also prompted question from my best friend, you own banana liqueur? ummm, why yes we do as it made the Hawaiian Punch delicious!)
Greyhound (with ruby red Absolut)
Dark & Stormy
What is your favorite cocktail?
