Last night I set to bid adieu to my very close friend as she embarks on an adventure in a state far from here. We enjoyed vino and apps at Mythos in San Carlos. Hello happy hour with 50% off bottles of wine and plenty of steals on bites to eat.
We exchanged presents for the holidays before getting the bright idea to go finish going through her closet. Although I have been the grateful recipient of many delicious things from her kitchen as she had prepped for the move, last night was far and away the most fun. We tried on things and decided what were keepers and what were “be honest” you will not wear that pieces. She is donating a far amount of clothes as well, which inspires me.
As I came home this morning, I was inspired by the cleansing nature of getting rid of clothes no longer in use. I decided it was time for my own come to Jesus with my closet too. I tackled it bit by bit and there is a ton going to Goodwill tomorrow. The pile made me realize that I need to consider my purchases a bit more carefully in the future and “be honest” with myself about how often I will wear things. New year’s resolution maybe?
There is a photo of the pile heading to Goodwill, but no I will not be showing it here.
We donate throughout the year, however there is something about giving away when you get something that makes you feel ever more grateful for what you have.
