My great aunt passed away last week, which inspired a roadtrip to LA to visit family for more adventures in LA LA land.
Although it is always sad to say good bye to someone, in this case I truly believe she is happier now. She suffered for many years from intolerable pain from arthritis.
And, I was fortunate to be able to visit with my family while I was in LA. I caught up with her son, my cousin, when I went by her house to collect a few things that she had left for me.
Then I headed up to stay with my newly married cousin and got surprise of seeing her sister in town for just 3 days from the Snoop Dog tour. That’s right, my fabulous cousin is a dancer on the Snoop Dog tour!
My cousins treated me to a delicious all you can eat sushi meal in Encino. Now I am usually not a fan of all you can eat sushi, but Midori Sushi is really good!
Since I needed to meet up with my other cousin again as a few straggling pieces of my aunt’s china were in the dishwasher, we met up at Junior’s Deli for some sinful corned beef hash. Why is it that there isn’t a good deli in the Bay Area?
Oh and then I got to meet up with my sister for a latte at Literati Cafe.
Oh and did I mention there was also a decadent cinnamon roll involved?
And finally, I got to see another of my cousins at Century City Mall for lunch.
A whirlwind 24 hours that celebrates the sense of adventure my great aunt always shared with me.
