When I cleaned out my closet late last year, I also donated some shoes. I toyed with getting rid of a pair of flip flops that are way past the stage of donating, but couldn’t bear to part with them.
They made the jaunt to the Big Island where I have finally recognized that it is time to bid adieu to them. It is the spot on the right foot right that is nearly worn thru to the sole that made me realize that these shoes have reached their max.
Why is it so hard to let go of a pair of flip flops? Well, it is probably that this trusty pair of Reef sandals has quite literally travelled the world with me from the banks of the Ganges in India to the beaches of Costa Rica to Maui to Hawaii to Florida to the Caribbean and to many, many other adventures.
They survived more than 5 years of fun, but now my right foot says enough. Time for the next pair of Reef sandals to adventure with me in this bright new year.
To a happy and adventure filled 2012 for everyone!
