Now I know where some of you are probably heading, but that is not what this post is about. Early last year I took a sewing class with my best friend. She had purchased a sewing machine and wanted to learn how to use it, so I tagged along. Much to my surprise, I enjoyed sewing.
Last year when I wanted something to focus on, I started making baby blankets. I found them to be a relatively easy project to create in an afternoon. With a number of our friends having babies last year and this year, it turned out to be the perfect way to give them a homemade gift.
I found my go to pattern online on Mama Stellato. Her simple baby blanket tutorial is really just that, simple. I have made one modification to her pattern in that I do not use the batting that she recommends. I have made blankets with a wide variety of fabrics and textures. Here are my baby project blankets:
