Well apparently this week is about eating and eating deliciously. I headed up to the city after work to pick up D. We were toying with dinner at a fave place – Pizzeria Delfina. Then I remembered an email he forwarded me a few months ago from a fellow pizza aficionado with an article about a new pizza restaurant in San Francisco. He considered the new place to be better than Delfina, but not as good as their favorite place in Atlanta.
Walk up to the door and there is literally a line out the door, which could have been cause for panic except that I had been practicing my yoga calm over the hour plus that I sat in traffic trying to get up to SF. Sure enough the line moved pretty quickly and the hostess was able to seat us early.
We were in luck too as they were celebrating their first anniversary with a party that included live music plus some tasty bites before the meal. How often does an impromptu dinner end at a party?
Since it was a special night, they had a limited menu that only offered two of their many pizzas. Like any good pizza aficionado, we got them both.
The pizza was good perhaps not quite as good as our current favorite local jaunt, Locanda Positano, but definitely decent. All in all a fun night.
