Last Friday, I was fortunate to have a sleepover in the city with a girlfriend. Slumber parties may be a thing from childhood, but they are decidedly better as a grown up. We made it into San Francisco with relatively no traffic on the 101, which is unheard of for a Friday night.
We scored parking in a garage next to the Hotel Adagio for half the cost of what valet would have been at the hotel. With special Marriott status, we got $20 off food at the hotel plus a glass of wine, so re rejiggered our dinner plans to eat at the hotel after shopping. We walked down to San Francisco Centre to get in shopping before the mall closed up shop at the early hour of 8:30.
Since both of us had very long Fridays, the frozen yogurt at the mall was probably the highlight of shopping on Friday night. We both scored one item and then decided to head back to the hotel to chill with dinner in the room plus admire the gorgeous city lights from our view.
Saturday we both awoke early, so we decided to hustle down to Dottie’s True Blue Cafe in hopes of getting ahead of the line. Alas there was already a line around the corner, but thankfully we brought coffee from the hotel and the line moved quickly.
Breakfast was a decadent treat. We each enjoyed one of their specials although the rest of the menu looked delicious as well.
After breakfast, we headed back to Powell Street area to try our luck at shopping again. We went into Old Navy and boy did we ever luck out. My friend’s card scored us 30% off plus the clothes were adorable! When sharing this with my grandmother, she shared that my great grandmother always said that it was a good idea to get one new item each season. Ok, so maybe I got more than one new item, but I did just give my closet a thorough cleaning out.
From the thrill of adorable new clothes, I headed down the Peninsula to enjoy pampering with my best friend. We had received 15% off emails for the Sense Spa at Rosewood in Menlo Park and decided to treat ourselves. The massages there are really wonderful and I left feeling quite pampered.
A fabulous, friend filled 24 hours!
