Today’s Blogtember prompt: React to this term: comfort.
This year feels like it has been full of change, some good, some more challenging. My grandmother likes to say that you feel out of sorts when things are out of equilibrium. As this change has been happening, I have tried to find the joy in it. Trusting that it will work out as long as we trust the path, sometimes (often??) not knowing where it will lead.
For me comfort is curling up on the couch under the blanket that my other grandmother made me. Snuggling in bed. Wearing a cozy sweatshirt on a chilly day. Surrendering in Supta Baddha Konasana or Savasana. Sometimes it is wearing a ridiculously comfortable pair of sweats or yoga pants on a day when you would rather not leave the house. Or finding the perfect spot in the sun to curl up with a good book, maybe even watching the waves. Or eating a delicious bowl of mac and cheese or just about any comfort food.
Comfort is finding those little moments that warm you up when you are facing uncertain times, feeling down, or even under the weather.
