If you talked to me the night we arrived, you probably wouldn’t have gotten a great impression of Burbank. A lousy night of sleep on Thursday night combined with an early start Friday plus traffic en route to the hotel had left me well, tuckered out. I rallied a bit and we headed to San Fernando Blvd to find a spot for dinner.
The places that would usually sound good to me like locally sourced food or Vietnamese, either sounded expensive or had a line, which made them pass. Then we walked up a side street and found a pizza place, North End Pizza. It was perfect. Pizza and a beer and we headed to bed. Just what the doctor ordered.
I woke up rejuvenated for our adventure run. D came up with genius idea to grab breakfast before run and stick it in fridge, which is a bonus of staying at a Residence Inn. If we sleep in, we generally make a choice between a run or breakfast but today we got to enjoy both!
Then we headed to the hotel gym to stretch and I discovered a yoga mat that I decided to enjoy poolside. That freeway noise that bothered me during the night turned out to be the perfect white noise today.
How do you turn your frown around?
