Our lives have been a little crazy lately, no maybe a lot crazy. I am very grateful thru all of this craziness of moving, starting new jobs, studying for exams and much more, we have made time for each other every week. Not just the passing in the hall time, but actual sit down at a nice dinner or by the pool and chill together time.
So while I clearly have not been writing on here much, it is with good reason. I was busy having fun. 🙂 Emi over at The Well-Traveled Wife wrote recently about pausing to think about what matters. For me writing this blog matters as it is a way to share experiences that will hopefully inspire you to enjoy cooking at home, sharing adventures, dining at fun restaurants, and simply enjoy life a bit more.
Yet, when my plate was getting super full over the past few months, I simply had to let this slide and only share updates on my Facebook page.
A few weeks ago, D and I enjoyed a second Restaurant Week date night. Have you heard of Restaurant Week? We had it in the Bay Area too. Local restaurants join up for one week (usually including two weekends, nice!) and each offers a prix-fix lunch or dinner menu. Prix-fixe menus are incredibly common in Europe and we love them. Generally the portions are a bit smaller, but you get to enjoy a nice 3 course menu.
We were in luck as one of our bucket list restaurants, El Chorro, was on the list. We booked a reservation on Open Table to be sure we got a spot. We lucked out with the perfect little two-person table by a fire pit.
We started with two of their strawberry mojitos, delish!
How can any meal be wrong when it STARTS with cinnamon pull-apart bread?
Well, apparently we were enjoying our food so much that I forgot to take photos of our actual food. It was delicious. Their trout almondine is a must try
For dessert, we both got the chocolate cream pie – to die for!
Beautiful, beautiful night.
