You probably know by now that I LOVE to cook. And, I happen to also enjoy baking quite a lot, oh yah and chocolate too, so I thought this would be the perfect way to finish off my week. I tried to invite D or another friend, but ended up going solo and it was sooooooo much fun.
Executive Pastry Chef Joel Gonzalez III and his sous chef did an outstanding job of showing us how to use chocolate in many different ways. I was grateful that they had done some of the leg work for us (aka measuring everything out).
We learned how to make chocolate coconuts – hard chocolate shell dipped in coconut filled with coconut cream ice cream and topped with coconut sorbet and a bit of lime zest. Yes, I did eat this pre-dinner, which is also why there are no photos. Unfortunately, I realized that my cell phone battery was almost dead too late, next time I will throw in my real camera!
Thankfully, Kimberly of the JW was there snapping photos and she sent me some of the photos that she took!
We also learned how to make a chocolate mold from a balloon, check it out below. We filled this cup with chocolate mousse and topped it with all sorts of beautiful decorations.
And finally, we learned how to make chocolate bark. I loved that we got to select our own dried ingredients. This is going to be one of the first things I enjoy post cleanse.
It was not nearly as hard to write about chocolate on the cleanse as I thought it would be, ahhhhhhh yummy!
