A few months ago, I traveled to San Diego. The reason for the extended visit was bittersweet and yet it was super important to make the time.
While I was there, someone asked me what I do on the computer. They noticed that I spend a lot of time on the computer while I visited. I experience a love/hate relationship with technology, so this question was thought provoking.
I find myself pausing before using technology more and more. Facebook (personal) and Instagram are not currently on my phone. Instagram will probably make its way back to the phone as it is an easy way to post updates for my new business, Be Buffum.
How often do we find ourselves on Facebook to discover news about family and friends? Shut it off and all of a sudden there is more time to chat with people on the phone or exchange txt messages or better yet they come visit. Still relishing in the trips last fall from a few girlfriends.
And that retreat away from the hubbub in November certainly filled my soul….
For a variety of reasons, I am not a fan of announcements on Facebook. While certainly I am happy for friends that get engaged or pregnant, I would prefer to hear it directly. It is a learning experience on how we cultivate this life of ours and what matters. What matters to you?
I love that my sister has decided to handwrite her blog, what an innovative idea and more personal too. Granted, I am typing my blog, but it also comes from the heart and I happen to think quickly and typing is a great fit. Handwriting I save for thank you notes and journaling. Do you prefer handwritting or typing or different things for different purposes?
