One of my blogging mentors, Well-Traveled Wife, has been giving me encouragement to get back into writing. She is really good at posting regularly and that is something that I aspire to reach.
As a family, we have one simple goal in life: be happy.
Some days that happiness is just there for us to enjoy and other days like yesterday it is a choice that I have to make happen. Yesterday got off to a bumpy start, including being late to 2 appointments, thankfully they were understanding. I think perhaps their understanding continued my choice to make it a good day.
My adorable clients are looking to find their first home and a new listing came on the market. Since they property is literally around the corner, I jumped on my bike instead of jumping in my car. Fresh air is good for the soul. The sun was shining even though rain was in the forecast.
After that I stopped by my favorite local cafe aka former grocery store, 32 Shea, and enjoyed a bite to eat. To my very surprise, the manager treated me to a drink for something that happened last weekend. She had already been very sweet when the problem arose and this random act of kindness reminded me why I love to go there.
Last night, my evening plans changed a few times. Note to self: when you add something to your calendar, it is a good idea to register for it. I chose to ride the wave as everything happens for a reason and just go to my second evening activity.
En route, I just had to stop into the adorable 21 cakes for a sweet treat, because nothing is better than a little sweet treat for a pick me up.
They did not disappoint! Look at the adorable packaging.
And then the cupcake, YUM!
The Beyond Fear Workshop that Christina Bilbrey of Stella Nova Strategies and Lanie Smith, MPS, ATR of Integrative Art Therapy put together was the perfect way to shift my perspective. I am always a fan of a little art therapy and the combination of a talk about moving thru fear combined with building an actual bridge was a wonderful end to the day.
