Several years ago in the midst of one of the many Saturdays and Sundays I spent in yoga teacher training, I looked down at my hand and saw that my wedding ring had split. Yikes! Thankfully, I did not panic and even more gratitude that I had not lost in somewhere in our many adventures.
I took my ring to the wonderful team at Topper Jewelers for what I coined a 100K tune-up. Right around that time I had taken my car in for a 100K tune-up and it occurred to me that in life we often don’t take the time to tune-up.
Granted in that moment of looking down at my wedding ring finger and seeing skin between the white gold of the antique setting that belonged to D’s grandmother, my heart may have skipped a beat.
As I took a step back and applied the mindfulness principles that we were learning in yoga, I decided to look at this as an opportunity for a tune-up.
Sometimes we let life get away from us and we don’t take the time to stop and tune things up for the long haul. There is always remove to refine ourselves and our relationships to create the life that we seek.
