Last Friday, I woke up with the thought that I wanted to sit on my couch and watch a movie on Friday night. Saturday thru Thursday were filled with events and I was ready to enjoy a comfy night at home.
Then I got a txt from a guy that asked if I would dig a movie night at home. Yah, God has plans whether you like it or not.
We had plans the week before, but he wasn’t feeling up for it. I offered to cook dinner at my house and we had a plan for a fun night in plus I got to break the last of my soft rules – dinner, not where your dirty minds might have gone. 🙂
I made this delicious pasta dish that has become a favorite: Pasta with Fried Lemons and Chiles from the New York Times. (ps it was even good as leftovers last night!!)
If you really read the soft rules, they were always meant to be broken in August. August was my timeline from the get go. I needed to get from April thru the actual divorce to the first anniversary post divorce to explore dating.
I needed to observe guys, watch how they interacted with me, watch their douchebag moves to know which guys merited being gentleman enough to be invited into my home to meet my amazing dog.
Interestingly, I noticed a new development this week – how a guy treats your dog is a good indicator of how they will treat you.
The first 4 in this series were coined “misadventures” in dating, but you will notice a key change now as they are now simply “adventures” in dating.
Yes, I am dating now and it is oodles of fun. I am so lucky to be surrounded by several communities that protect me in this relatively new experience.
I feel safe and protected. I am lucky.
So ya maybe it was our fault that we picked a movie, the Italian Job, that we both had seen before but it fun still. And, yes he has a nickname, of course he has a nickname. 🙂
