We went on a California road trip last week that started on Sunday driving to Big Sur for a few nights before heading to San Diego to share Christmas with both of our families. On Saturday morning, we woke up to head back home to the Bay Area with the wonderful surprise of feeling sick. Ugh, not what you want to wake up with on a Saturday, but at least it was the last day of our vacation and we were headed home.
This bout with feeling crummy is probably the result of the 12 flights in 9 days that D recently flew combined with the unusually cold weather that arrived in the Bay Area. Yesterday we treated ourselves to some yummy Chinese food from Gin Mon in Belmont where we learned from the owner that hot and sour soup is known for it’s healing properties, something about the combination of chicken stock made from the bones, vinegar, pepper, and mushrooms. It was delightful.
