Finished a grueling 11 miles in the nick of time as the rain is starting again. Set out for 10, but at mile 1 I started saying only 4.5 miles to go and I figured well I guess I am going for it. That and the woman at the start who clearly was a much more competent runner than me said well you can always do a 1/2 mile cool down at the end. Apparently I missed seeing a famous runner, Ryan Hauck or something like that. Gratefully, much of the crowd was leaving as I got here though I did happen on several groups of slow walkers, hence the title of this post. I bumped into one a bit – called out excuse me and neither the two walkers facing me nor the two walkers going the same direction moved an inch, so yes four people across and I wasn’t letting that stop me. Heck I had enough trouble getting going this morning. The GU and brief walk at 5.5 was much needed not sure if sugar rush or runner’s high kept me going on the way back or simply objects in motion stay in motion. Also managed to keep pace with two male runners about 6ft for the last 2 miles which made my 2nd half 2 min faster than my first half even though I was puttering along for some of that. Now headed to the gym for a hot shower! Highly recommend downloading the app for word press, makes posting oodles easier than that site.
