With this gorgeous, hot weather, it has been nice to get up early for a run before the heat kicks in. And it is even better to catch a bit of water from a run thru sprinklers. There is nothing like the cool feeling of the small drops of water hitting your legs as you are trying to kick it in for a strong finish.
Like it or not, life will continue to challenge us. That pesky pinky toe was indeed fractured on the inside corner of the smallest bone in the toe.
“Best place to break it,” according to my doc. Well, I guess it is considered the best place, because unlike when you break the bigger bone in the toe (yes, unfortunately I’ve done this in the past…), when you break the smallest bone, it doesn’t take you out of activities for nearly as long.
Although I haven’t been inclined to run much lately due to a pervasive lack of motivation for it, the fact is I can run. I’ve been settling for 3 to 4 miles most days with a bit of walking. This weekend I got in a 5.8 as well as an 8, both with a fair amount of walking.
Yesterday was a crazy day at work as we worked quickly to make a big announcement.
Although I ran 4 miles in the morning (or 4.08 according to my out of sync Nike+), I was very much looking forward to yoga at the end of the day.
Wednesday night yoga at Equinox San Mateo with Jennifer Lane is one of my favorite classes and last night was no exception.
It was the perfect fix to settle down from an exciting day.
Yesterday I started a new job at Juice In The City in San Mateo. This new job means a much shorter commute – as in 2 extra hours in every day.
What to do with this amazing amount of time? Run of course!
I’ve decided that this new job means new motivation and I am going to try to run at least 3 miles every morning and some mornings 4 or 6. Off to a good start so far with 3 miles yesterday and 4 miles today.
And, these flowers from my hubby plus the warm welcome from the team at JITC certainly make the motivation even easier!
Just got back from marvelous vacation with my hubby cruising in the Caribbean. Although we didn’t workout every day, we did manage to get to the gym a few times and even run on the track on the ship.
Must say my favorite was snorkeling off the coast of Buck Island.
The only bummer is that I came back with an injured pinky toe, so training probably won’t happen for a bit. Darn rock by the pool. 😉 Thankfully it doesn’t appear to be broken.
